The arrival of the 70 degree weather motivated me to take a drive to Natural Bridges down in Santa Cruz. Got there just as the sun was setting only to find six or seven photographers already setup for the show.
I took a number of shots but wasn’t in love with any of them until this lone pelican flew down from the bridge plopped itself right in the middle of the frame. Managed to make a single exposure while it was kind enough to stay perfectly still for 6 seconds before flying off.
The light was falling and changing pretty quickly so I stuck to using my wide angle lens the whole time and shot a few frames of the receding water.
